Successful premiere of IT2Industry@productronica 2015
At IT2Industry 2015, which was held in conjunction with the international trade fair productronica for the first time ever, 2,800 visitors gathered information about products, solutions and services that are related to Industry 4.0.
Potential for new business models
After the success of its premiere as a one-day conference within the scope of electronica 2014, now IT2Industry has continued its positive development as a trade fair and open conference for intelligent, digitally networked working environments.
Among other things, the event focused on topics such as industrial software, cloud computing and big data, M2M communication and industrial IT security. According to a visitor survey, 78 percent of participants gave IT2Industry a rating of good to excellent for the fair’s content and for combining the exhibition and conference areas. For visitors, the potential for new business models that emerge as the result of Industry 4.0 is particularly important.
Exhibitors were also very satisfied with IT2Industry@productronica 2015: 76 percent said that they want to be at the next IT2Industry when it is held in conjunction with automatica 2016.
Dr. Werner Eberle, Senior Technical Consultant, INSYS Mikroelectronics, indicated that he was very pleased with how well IT2Industry was integrated into one of the leading high-tech trade shows organized by Messe München: “Compared to classic IT, industrial IT has to be very specialized and must continue to develop. That is why explicitly integrating these IT topics into classic industry trade shows is a good idea.”
Statements about IT2Industry@productronica 2015
August-Wilhelm Scheer, Founder IDS Scheer GmbH:
“The great response to the Open Conference shows that the networking of companies, persons and processes is discerned as a central challenge for industry. The trade fair concentrates essential subjects on the way to the industrial ‘Internet of Things’ and thus represents an important platform.”
Jürgen Kletti, General Manager and shareholder of MPDV Mikrolab:
“For the association MES D.A.CH-Verband and for us as MES providers, IT2Industry is a good opportunity to convey the importance of modern manufacturing execution systems for Industry 4.0 to an audience that is largely to be assigned to electronics manufacturing because of productronica, which is taking place in parallel.”
Philipp Bundschuh, Systems Engineer, Kutzschbach GmbH:
“Industry 4.0 is one of the leading topics in IT and industry. We from Kutzschbach Electronic are exhibiting at IT2Industry because we have developed a specific solution—‘Unified Monitoring for IT and Production’—precisely for this fourth industrial revolution and are thus contributing to the progress of the ‘smart factory’. By means of the robot, we’d like to present our particular development and demonstrate it in practice.”
Dr. Werner Eberle, Senior Technical Consultant, INSYS Microelectronics:
“IT for industry must specialize strongly and develop further compared with classical IT. So it’s a very good idea to integrate these IT subjects explicitly into classical industry fairs. The center of attention at IT2Industry were the lectures of the Open Conference, which were well attended.”
Tina Marx, Management, Sales Manufacturing, arvato Systems:
“With our lecture at the Open Conference, we directly reached the right listeners from industry. Straight after that, we conducted valuable talks at our exhibition stand and so we informed potential customers further about our solutions as presented beforehand. The format of the ‘fair within the fair’ in combination with the lecture at the Open Conference was a perfect approach for us.”
