Focus topics IT2Industry@productronica
Due to the industrial Internet of Things, the prerequisites for production and manufacturing are undergoing some fundamental changes. The products and services that are presented at IT2Industry as part of the international trade fair productronica are the link between classic manufacturing and the fourth industrial revolution.
Globally networked production locations
At IT2Industry, companies will show how decentralized control loops are integrated into the production process. That way, data from the production world that is generated in real time, can be processed by Internet-based services and used in the control process.
Infrastructure and industrial IT security
The more that network-based functions are used in the production process, the more im-portant it becomes to make the network available reliably and in any given situation and to guarantee the best possible physical security. At IT2Industry, companies will offer best-practice examples and services for selecting the right standards and norms.
“Lot size 1”
The industrial Internet of Things and Industry 4.0 can only be optimally implemented if manu-facturing and production are in a position to respond flexibly to individual customer require-ments. In this respect, the range of topics at IT2Industry covers everything from cloud com-puting and big data and analytics to software engineering and security solutions.
Big Data
Thanks to data analysis, companies are in a position to identify possible failures of machine parts early and with must greater precision than before. As a result, companies at IT2Industry will demonstrate how intelligent production planning can further optimize the capacity utiliza-tion of manufacturing systems.
Energy efficiency of production locations
The industrial Internet of Things will also have a very strong effect on energy efficiency in manufacturing and production. At IT2Industry, the Association of the Bavarian Metal and Electrical Industry (VBM) is holding a session on "Energy and Energy Efficiency" at the ac-companying Open Conference.

The international industry gathering productronica
The next IT2Industry@productronica takes place at the Messe München trade-fair center from November 10–13, 2015. Its future-oriented topics were already in great demand at productronica 2013. Ten percent of the 1,218 exhibitors presented products, solutions and services related to innovative fields such as organic and printed electronics, software for electronics manufacturing, 3D printing and additive manufacturing.
Nearly 20 percent of the 37,880 trade visitors were interested in innovative and future-oriented applications and solutions.*
